Pahrump

Pahrump is a small quaint town in southern Nevada.  The first settlers in Pahrump were the Shoshone Indians.  There are so many artesian well in the Pahrump Valley that the Indians named the place “Water Rock”.

The abundance of water brought a lot of ranchers to the valley.  The main crops were alfalfa, cotton, and livestock.

As Las Vegas took off as a tourist Mecca and a place to live, real estate speculation became the order of the day.  Pahrump was drawn into the boom because of its relatively low priced land compared to Vegas.

Pahrump’s most famous resident is Art Bell.  Art is the star of the radio show Coast to Coast which is heard around the world.

Pahrump Land

Pahrump Land prices have taken a nose dive during the economic downturn.  You can see this a buying opportunity.  Pahrump is a much desired place to live.  Pahrump land that used to cost from $25,000 to $100,000 for a 1/2 acre tract can now be purchased for $10,000 to $20,000.  Don’t expect these bargain prices to last for Pahrump Land.  Once the economy gets back on track then Pahrump Land prices will go up again.

The elevation of Pahrump ranges from 2,500 feet to 2,750 above sea level.

Pahrump Nevada is about 26 miles long and about 12 miles wide.

The weather in the winter can drop down to the 30’s for short periods.  Summer weather reaches into the 100’s.

Pahrump Homes

Pahrump Homes are mostly semi-custom built.  People tend to want their houses to be different than their neighbors house, so you don’t see many cookie cutter type Pahrump Homes.

If you were in the market for a Pahrump Home right now, it would probably be better for you to buy a previously lived in house rather than a new one.  You would get a much better deal then new construction.   You would most likely get all the custom extras you ever dreamed about at a much reduced price.

Pahrump Realty

Pahrump Realty is the second most popular occupation in Pahrump next to construction.  Everybody seems to be a real estate agent or investor in Pahrump.  Pahrump Homes For Sale outnumber the people that live here…at least that is the joke that goes around.

Hotels Pahrump

There are many Hotels in Pahrump.  Pahrump has hotels that house casinos and hotels that are stand alone.  A hotel in Pahrump will cost less then in a larger city.  You can also expect a free buffet or two when you check in.  There will be plenty of free parking and many choices when it comes to entertainment and food.

Sheris

Perhaps the most famous Pahrump Ranch is Sheris.  That’s right…Pay per act sex.   You can buy it here.  Sheris Ranch is just one of the bordellos  in Pahrump.

Chicken Ranch

Not to be outdone, the Chicken Ranch also provides sex for money.  There is no legal prostitution in Las Vegas.  So if you want it, then Pahrump is the place to  visit.

Pahrump Nevada has it all.  Well Pahrump Nevada has a lot.

Pahrump In Nevada

Pahrump Nevada is located exactly 60 miles west of Las Vegas Nevada on State Route 160. Although a relatively small town, Pahrump Nevada is known by people around the world because of a famous radio personality. Art Bell transmitted from Pahrump Nevada for many years and people all over would listen to him and his odd radio show.

Pahrump NV

Pahrump NV reminds people of what Las Vegas was like 30 years ago. It is a samll town with all sorts of hotels, casinos, whore houses, and real estate speculation that would make Donald Trump blush.

Pahrump NV is out in the middle of the dessert. But that doesn't stop the "dreamers" from opening up a winery. Yep, they grow grapes and produce wine out there.

Only In Pahrump

Legal Prostitution--Real UFO Sightings--Atomic Bombs. Guess Where?

The other day I decided to take a drive outside of Las Vegas. I headed down I-15 and took exit 33, which is locally known as State Highway 160/Blue Diamond Road. I drove West on Hwy 160 for exactly 60 miles and found myself in the town of Pahrump, Nevada.

You might be surprised to find out how many people from around the world actually know about the existence of Pahrump. Art Bell made the small town of Pahrump famous through his radio show.

According to Pahrump.org, "The Pahrump Valley offers a country-like atmosphere with clean fresh air, plenty of good water and friendly people who are glad to call you neighbor. We have low taxes, NO personal or corporate taxes, quite affordable housing and an easy-flowing lifestyle."

Well that all may be true, but they left out a few very special Pahrumpian characteristics from their description of this one of a kind small town.

Such As:
There are two world famous legal brothels in Pahrump. One is called Sheri's Ranch and the other is called The Chicken Ranch. There are many people in and around Pahrump that believe (probably because of its proximity to Area 51) that UFO activity is out of control in the skies overhead.

The Nevada Test Site is a short ride down the road from the local Wal-Mart. Of course the test site offered up above ground and now underground nuclear bomb explosions while the Wal-Mart has only offered falling prices. What an interesting town!

Perhaps on your next vacation to Las Vegas you can set aside a day to take a side trip to Pahrump Nevada.

Remember to bring your camera. Those aliens love posing for pictures against the backdrop of a nuclear bomb going off with a hooker on either side of their space ship.

Pahrump Nevada...gotta love it!!
